Celebration of Citizenship by Marc Wyatt, CBF Field Personnel

Dear Marc and Kim, You probably have already heard this news but I wanted to tell you how excited we all are that Jackie and her children are all now Canadian citizens. A group of us went with them on Friday morning to witness their swearing-in ceremony – Jackie was so happy, she was just glowing. Osny was just as excited although his acceptance as a Canadian citizen is still 2 years away.

One of the most prolific writers in mission circles during the first half of the 20th century was Dr. Samuel Zwemer.  Zwemer authored over fifty books and many articles promoting missions.  In addition, through his work with the Student Volunteer Movement and while teaching at Princeton, Dr. Zwemer influenced young men and women to go into missionary service.  Some missiologists feel that Zwemer influenced more young people to missionary service than anyone else in Christian history.

Five Challenges of Diversity

The Houston we left 28 years ago and the Houston we call home today are two entirely different places, though they share the same geographic location. It was about this time 37 years ago that Butch and I made a drive from College Station, TX to The Galleria Mall in Houston to purchase an engagement ring. Everyone in the mall looked, talked, and acted just about the same. Now when I go to The Galleria no one looks, talks, or acts the same. Mono-culturalism has given over to diversity.
