THE RED BIBLE UNDER THE ARM OF A MAN ON 42nd ST     I was reared looking at bookshelves with Bibles in five to ten different languages. In our apartment today, I have three shelves full of Bibles in at least ten different languages. Distributing Bibles seems to be second nature in my understanding of mission. Later, living in North Carolina, Ana and I distributed more than 1,000 copies of Spanish Bibles to the newly arrived Mexican population in the state.   This is an urban mission vignette of walking in a city without borders.   The view from 42nd St. looking west across the traffic light is a typical view of an intersection in New York. It is about 2:15 P.M. therefore the street is not as crowded as it is at noon or about 9:00 A.M.
