Attend an On-Location Event

Events are listed in chronological order.

Weekend of Prayer and Fasting (September 24-26, 2010)

Women and children from economically impoverished areas around the world are being captured, sold, or forced to work as slaves at this very moment, often in the sex industry. Human trafficking comes in many forms and has many different faces, but make no mistake: all forms of trafficking are a form of slavery and may affect your community. And the problem will not go away unless we do something about it (from Global Issues Affecting Women: Sex Trafficking Study Guide available from Global Women link).

Global Women invites you to join the anti-slavery movement! We affirm and support the work of the Salvation Army’s Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking (IAST). On September 24-26, 2010, IAST and the Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAAAST) are co-sponsoring a Weekend of Prayer and Fasting. A large selection of resources including Bible studies, bulletin inserts, fasting fact sheet, flyers, music, prayer guides, books, and sermons are available free from
www.traffickingprayerandfasting.org
. As you participate, register your activities and be counted in your stand to abolish sex trafficking.
